The Herbal.Mednet 4th project meeting took place between 4 & 6/6/2014 in Bucharest, Romania, at the premises of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMVB), Faculty of Agriculture. Long-time AK friends Prof. Georghe Valentin Roman and Dr. Maria Toader from USAMVB were the kind hosts ensuring that everything would be properly set up during the meeting. The meeting place is conveniently located close to the center of Bucharest and was easily accessible by public means of transportation.
The discussions of the meeting were mainly focused on the feedback received during the 1st interim report of the project. Based on the feedback received by the Spanish National Agency, which is responsible for the project, issues were identified and solutions were proposed. Due to the fact that the project will end by the end of 2014, actions will be taken within the next weeks, in order to ensure that all issues will be appropriately addressed. Apart from that, the new, WordPress-based version of the project website was presented, along with information on the agriMoodle platform, which will be used by the user partners of the project for delivering their training courses.
This time, we had the pleasure to meet Marta di Piero, the representative from Associazione Italiana per l’Agricoltura Biologica (AIAB), Italy, which replaced SERIFO in the project consortium. Marta was a pleasant surprise, as she managed to actively contribute to the meeting with her ideas and collaborative spirit despite the fact that she was a newcomer. In addition, Apivita this time was represented by Dr. Kostas Gardikis, who also provided an alternative view for the contribution of Apivita in the project.
In addition, various topics related to the next activities of the project, like the pilot trials and the delivery of the online training courses were discussed, with the deadlines set and confirmed by the project partners involved. The meeting also included two joint dinners organized by our local hosts at lovely restaurants; we would like to especially thank our hosts for the joint dinner of the second evening, which took place at classy Mc Moni’s; a place which we had also visited during the final project meeting of the Organic.Balkanet project.

The 3rd (and last) day of the meeting was collocated with the International Conference “Agriculture for Life, Life for Agriculture“, which provided the Herbal.Mednet project partners with the opportunity to attend interesting presentations on various agricultural topics, as well as to present themselves related parts of their work in one of the Conference’s sessions, which was organized by the project. The Conference will be presented in one of the next posts.
