This time we have a special interview, as our “victim” is the first intern to make it to Agro-Know in the context of the Internship Programme that we publish every now and then. Athina Makri is currently supporting the AK Admin department and facilitates the existing processes with her experience and energy! She was kind enough to share information about herself with the Agro-Know team through a detailed email and she was also kind enough to provide her feedback to our usual questions, which follow in the form of a mini-interview.
1. You are the first intern to join the AK team so this makes you one of a kind! Would you like to share some info on that? How did you find us and what drew your attention in the AK job opening ?
Firstly, as I am the 1st intern in Agro-Know, I hope I bring luck to you with that from now on! I think that this type of job openings, which start as an internship, is good for both of 2 parts. The new member has the opportunity to understand the way company and other members work & their culture while he/she getting significant work experience. In the same time, the AK’s members can understand if the new person ‘fits’ the company and the job position and finally if he/she is someone who could share their goals with and be a permanent member of ‘AK family’.
I found the AK job opening through the site of ‘Career office of DUTH’ and I sent my CV. (I would like to thank a friend of mine, Dimitris Tsitsis who works in that Career office and made some referrals for me to Admin team / you know the importance of are referrals in AK!). Dimitra (Mermigki) called me to join an interview and you know the rest… now she is my supervisor 🙂
2. What is your educational background and which is your role in the AK team?
I am a graduate from Athens University of Economics and Business and specifically my studies are on Business Economics & Finance. In Agro-Know, I am a member of Administration department team. That means that I assist with all aspects of office management: monitoring and obtaining supplies, submitting invoices, managing files, performing general office support and coordinate between departments in resolving any type of operational problems.
3. What do you find interesting in your work with AK so far? Do you see any challenges in your daily routine at the office?
Although there is not a long time I have been here, I find very interesting and unique the object of the projects that AK undertakes (green issues) and its collaborations. I like very much the warm and friendly environment between the members of AK also. The challenges in my job position are the multifaceted tasks and the fact that every member of AK counts on admin team to manage every single detail and problem of office’s operation.
4. What are your hobbies / How do you spend your free time?
I love hanging out with friends, running, watching movies and series and, whenever I can, making little (or not) trips!

My iPhone. It has almost replaced my PC!
