One of the issues that we faced in the Agro-Know office had to do with the internet connection; too many computers connecting at the same time, some of them on bandwidth-consuming tasks like video conferencing (Skype calls, Flash Meetings, Google Hangouts), uploading/downloading large files/attachments etc.; let alone colleagues listening to music from various online music sources… combined with the messy cable network of Athens, we frequently ended up with very low speeds, disconnections and low quality internet connection in general.
No more! The internet connection at the office was just upgraded to VDSL, providing (in theory) 50Mbps of download and 5Mbps of upload speed. This is combined with our back up ADSL line (synced at 2Mbps for avoiding issues with the network/connection) should provide sufficient bandwidth for meeting the office needs.
The quality of the line & the new connection seems to be pretty good, at least according to the test by PingTest.net. The connection got a B* grade, which is rather good; you can read more about what each Grade refers to here.
We hope that this will solve the internet connection issues we faced during the previous months and got worse as the AK team get bigger and bigger!
