Popi Tsavlopoulou is almost the newest member of our team. She supports the Agro-Know Admin Department as our Culture & Talent Development intern and is already working on the sensitive tasks of the company’s Human Resources, working with issues related to cultural activities, coordination of internal trainings and development plans etc. She is also the person most actively involved in the organization and coordination of Agro-Know events such as the All-Hands Sessions, the Value of the Month session and the Book Club series of meetings – and let’s not forget the really well-organized Agro-Know Christmas party! Taking her actively involvement in all these recent Agro-Know events, it seems that it would be a nice opportunity for us (and you) to get to know her a little bit better. Let’s see what Popi has responded to our questions:
1. You are currently the newest member of the Agro-Know team. Would you like to share some info on how you found us and what drew your attention in the Agro-Know job opening ?
I was searching for the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for people and their development with a vibrant work environment, truly believing in people and working for their best interests, both at a company and a global level. I was lucky enough to discover Agro-Know, which at the time was searching for a Culture & Talent Development intern.
2. What is your educational background and which is your current role in Agro-Know?
I have studied Economics (BSc) at the University of Piraeus and Human Resource Development & Performance Management (MSc) at Leicester University (UK). I am currently serving Agro-Know as Culture & Talent Development intern.
3. You came to support the Admin Department of Agro-Know in the sensitive field of Human Resources; would you like to share some info on the things that you are currently working on and the ones that you would like to change in the next months? What are your plans in terms of re-organizing & improving the existing workflows?
My work spans across various domains: strengthening the AK Culture though designing engaging activities, providing structure to learning & development activities, establishing the processes and rules for career progression & succession planning, gathering and analysing employee feedback as regards workplace happiness and satisfaction, as well as assisting in growing the AK family though values-based recruitment; these, on top of handling mundane HR tasks. It’s more about creating than changing at the moment – and it will be so for quite a while! Truly exciting times ahead!
4. What do you find interesting in your work with Agro-Know so far? Do you see any challenges in your daily routine at the office?
As I said before, I truly appreciate the focus on values, the freedom to create and the constant efforts to make Agro-Knowers happier and more fulfilled, while safeguarding that company goals are being met. As regards challenges, I would say that responsibility, though desirable and necessary, can feel too heavy at times. Daily routine? There is no such thing! Every day is a new day, full of opportunities create, fulfil duties and serve people in a better way. This is a very deep learning experience for me and I am grateful for that.
5. What are your hobbies / How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy socializing, going to the movies, listening to music and dedicating my time to causes I deem important, like human rights, animal welfare and environmental protection.
6. Where can we find you online?
You can find me on LinkedIn: https://gr.linkedin.com/in/popitsavlopoulou
I suggest you search for me offline too 😉 I am always up for a good chat and a glass of prosecco after work.. Coffee too..
7. Favorite kind of music?
I am a lover of music; I particularly enjoy classical, orchestral, rock and techno music. I’m not saying no to pop music either – you know, the kind of tunes that stick to your head, the ‘flavour of the month’ type of music.. My favourite musical instrument is the cello, closely followed by the piano.
8. Which was the last book you read / movie you watched?
Book – currently reading ‘Techniques for Coaching & Mentoring’ on my way to work and back.
Movie – The Dracula Untold. This week: Interstellar.
I routinely watch animation movies as soon as they come out.
9. What was the last gadget you bought and why you bought it?
A new smartphone with a 13MP camera. It is probably clear to you that I love taking pictures!
10. Anything else to share with us?
I would like to thank you for those interesting questions as well as for turning the spotlight on me – something you faithfully do for all new Agro-Knowers.
I shall leave you with a beautiful track with beautiful pictures of mother earth creation-flowers:
