Agro-Know has a long-time experience in the field of EU-funded research projects in the agri-food sector (but not limited to it), through its active participation and contribution. In this context, we are now trying to understand the difficulties that the agri-food research community faces regarding the acquisition of EU funds through successful proposals (e.g. for Horizon 2020 calls) and the inclusion of a Data Management Plan (DMP), according to the funder’s (European Commission) guidelines and principles.
In Horizon 2020 a limited pilot action on open access to research data will be implemented. Participating projects will be required to develop a Data Management Plan (DMP), in which they will specify what data will be open.
Within the next weeks, Agro-Know plans to start testing a new online service for providing support to existing and potential coordinators/managers of EU-funded research projects, in the context of the Horizon2020 framework. We aim at those who recognize the need for applying the guidelines provided by the Commission regarding the implementation of an Open Access policy & the inclusion of Data Management Plans (in the corresponding pilot – PDF) for proposals and research projects funded by the Horizon 2020 calls.
