During the last couple of days, we were glad to host a special guest; Mr. Enayat Rajabi, PhD Researcher at the Department of Computer Sciences of the University of Alcalá was invited to share his experience with the Agro-Know team, in the context of his research visit to Athens. Enayat is an expert in educational linked data and has already worked on several applied cases, including the linked data version of the Organic.Edunet IEEE LOM AP and he is an active contributor of the Open Discovery Space CIP-PSP project (where Agro-Know is also a consortium member). He is also the chair of the Exposing IEEE LOM Metadata as Linked Data Community Group of W3C as well as an active contributor to the ARIADNE Foundation.
During his stay in Athens, Enayat delivered a series of seminars on topics related to educational linked data, including:
- Linked data sources for education;
- Transforming the educational metadata to linked data: A tutorial;
- Setting up a SPARQL endpoint for Open Educational Resources: A tutorial
The seminars provided the basics of linked data, as well as more advanced technical information, meeting the requirements of the participants at both metadata and technical level.
The seminars were attended by several members of the Agro-Know team, mainly from the Data and Technical teams of our Operations Department; people already working with various types of metadata, including educational among others, contributing to different steps of the metadata management workflow of the Agro-Know Data Framework which serves a number of different purposes, networks and collections.
We would like to thank Mr. Enayat Rajabi for taking the time to share his experience with us and we are really looking forward to our next meeting!
