This time we have the pleasure to interview Jenny Kesoglidou; the latest intern to join the Agro-Know team, and more specifically the IT support team of Agro-Know! Jenny has been with us for several weeks now and she has quickly became a part of the team. Let’s see what Jenny has responded to our questions – right below!
You are the latest intern to join the Agro-Know team. Would you like to share some info on how you found us and what drew your attention in the Agro-Know job opening ?
I was searching for a new job that would suit me more and would allow me to be creative and be proud about it. As most of people I use internet and so I came across the Agro-Know web site. I found it interesting and very unique because of the combination of agriculture with informatics. I spent a lot of time to see every subject of the site and I saw that it was an it support opening so I went for it.
What is your educational background and which is your current role in the Agro-Know team?
I graduated in 2014 from the Technological Educational Institute of Messolonghi, Department of Telecommunication Systems and Networks. In my University’s trainee program I participated in the research for high speed fiber network and at IEEE seminars for IEEE student branch. My graduation project was on “Experimental determination of reliability parameters of an optical network”. Furthermore, I did an internship at the National Bank of Greece as a network engineer and I was working in the sales department at Vodafone (one of the Greek mobile operators). Currently, I am is doing my internship in the Agro-Know IT Support team. Here you can find my university’s web site.
What do you find interesting in your work with Agro-Know so far? Do you see any challenges in your daily routine at the office?
What I find interesting is that my work affects all departments with which we collaborate nicely. My daily challenge as an intern is that I am trying to solve something new. So everyday I have something new to learn which is based on my studies so it makes me feel more useful.
You are involved in the IT support team of Agro-Know; do you feel that your background helps you with your current tasks?
Of course my studies help me a lot because I have some basic knowledge which I enrich and I improve daily. Sometimes the problems I have to manage are totally different from that I used to do but having a background on informatics makes my effort more easy because some strategies of thinking or solving are similar.
What are your hobbies / How do you spend your free time?
In my free time I go hiking with my dog Ektoras an energetic doberman. I love the sea and I am waiting for the summer to go swimming. I grew up in a house full of music so listening music and different types of music takes a lot of my free time. Also in my free time I go to the gym for a few months now so I hope I am doing well.
Where can we find you online?
Well you can find me in many social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other applications as Gmail.
Favorite kind of music?
Good question! As Ι already said i am a multi-cultured person in music. I can listen any kind of music apart from heavy metal. I like traditional music, rebetica pop, rock, house, electro, funky. It depends on my mood and I usually listen from each kind songs that I really like. However my favorite bands are Melisses and U2. There is one song especially like from U2’s latest album.
Which was the last book you read / movie you watched?
My favorite author is Paulo Coelho and I am currently reading now a book of him called Zahir. My favorite movies for this year were The Titans in 3D and The girl, a German awarded film based on childhood reactions.
What was the last gadget you bought and why you bought it?
I bought my last gadget 3 months ago; it was my mobile phone. I wanted to buy a mobile based on current technology to make my daily routine easier wherever I am. I searched a lot because I wanted to find it at a normal price too. So I bought a Lenovo A8 4G FDD LTE A806 phone from Hong-Kong and I rooted it for Europe settings. If you are into mobile phones and you want help just let me know. Here is a video review of my mobile for those interested.
Anything else to share with us?
I would like to thank Agro-Know for the opportunity I was given and specifically my colleague Stauros for the time he has spend training me. As a person I always have different perspectives from the others and being a member of this team makes me feel comfortable.
