Anthony Patricarakos is a new addition to the Agroknow team; a student of the Agricultural University of Athens who selected Agroknow as the company for his internship, bringing a fresh view to our work. Anthony has been with us for quite a long time now and has already helped us a lot with various tasks – how does he see things inside (and outside of) Agroknow? Lets see what he has responded to our questions!
You are one of the latest interns to join the Agroknow team. Would you like to share some info on how you found us and what drew your attention in the Agroknow job opening ?
Well, I was in the process of finding an internship opening in order to complete my final stage of studies and I ended up finding online your company that I think suits me just perfect both in a scientific background , but as a challenging experience as well, with a lot to learn.
What is your educational background and which is your current role in the Agroknow team?
I’m a senior undergratuate student at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of the Agricultural University of Athens. Currently I’m doing my internship in Agroknow, and more specifically at the Business Development department of the company. I will apply my expertise on a joint project with Stevia Hellas Cooperative, where my primary goal would be to analyze the data requirements of the Stevia Hellas members and to design the proper graphical visualization of the information.
What do you find interesting in your work with Agroknow so far? Do you see any challenges in your daily routine at the office?
There are so many things that are worth mentioning that I feel I would need at least two pages… 😛 But to summarise my thoughts for the company I would say that the level of professionalism and expertise of my colleagues and the whole concept of Agroknow’s meaning are truly remarkable and interesting and motivate me to get better and learn as much as I can, in a short period of time. As for the second part of the question I have to say that finding everyday challenges in your daily routine at the office, is something that we all should look for in our future jobs, because they are your main source of self-improvement through the process of “breaking” your own personal limitations.
You are involved in the Business Development team of Agroknow; do you feel that your background helps you with your current tasks?
I think my educational background is really suited for the job since it combines the agricultural science with the economic science, two scientific domains that this department really uses and needs. Besides it’s really different to know a word and understanding a word… and I think that’s where I’m needed!
What are your hobbies / How do you spend your free time?
The precious free time is spent at cinemas and movies in general, reading books, comics, going to the gym, listening to music, playing video games, travelling as much as possible and spending time with friends. I wish I had time for more activities and hobbies… They’re never enough!
Where can we find you online?
Favorite kind of music?
It depends on the time and the mood that I am. In general I listen to every genre of music.
Which was the last book you read / movie you watched?
The last book that I’ve read is “The God delusion” by a famous evolution biologist Richard Dawkins that through the spectre of all sciences is trying to prove that religion in general is man’s creation in order to solve and answer unsolved issues and problems that have to do with life and death and that religions are holding back man’s evolution from every aspect of his life. The last movie that I saw was “The lobster” by a Greek director Giorgos Lanthimos that is trying to pinpoint the social conformism that relationships nowadays undergo.
What was the last gadget you bought and why you bought it?
The last gadget that I’ve bought was a mobile phone and a laptop , both for practical reasons…
Anything else to share with us?
Well I would like to express my gratitude for the amazing opportunity that I was given, being a member of Agroknow’s team and that I’m sure that the journey ahead holds a lot of good and interesting surprises… Looking forward to them!
We would like to thank Anthony for taking the time to respond to our questions as well as for his valuable contributions to our work so far! We can only hope that he is gaining some valuable experiences from a competitive but rewarding environment like Agroknow’s 🙂
