Riga_Summit_2015_logoThe Riga Summit 2015 titled “Shape the future of multilingual Europe” is an event that takes place between April 27-29, 2015 at Riga, Latvia. The event aims to work on the issues posed by the linguistic diversity of the European Union: with 24 official languages used within the EU, multilingualism also creates barriers between nations. Language barriers prevent all European consumers from fully engaging in online activities and restricts access to digital assets, as for many Europeans information is frequently unavailable in their native language. The event is organized by the European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology (DG Connect) as well as a variety of stakeholders in multilingualism, like Tilde, META-NET and the European Association of the Language Technology Industry (LT Innovate).… Click to read the full post
