The 3rd International Open Data Conference 2015 (IODC15) will take on May 28-29, 2015 in Ottawa, Canada. It is a global event jointly organized by the Government of Canada, Canada’s International Development Research Centre, and the World Bank. The Conference will engage sector and open data experts, senior government officials, industry leaders, and civil society champions from around the world in open discussions and collaborative work that will lead to a data revolution.

Last Saturday Agro-Know joined forces with ODI Athens on a quest to answer the question “Open Data. Why?”. It was a coalition formed as part of the Open Data Day event, hosted at the beautiful building of innovathens. Agro-Know was in charge of organizing and facilitating a participatory lab on open agri-food data, titled “Open Data in the agri-food sector”. The lab was divided into two parts, namely the first one which included speeches on the role of data on agriculture and food by prominent figures of the academic, public and private sector, and the second part during which an interactive round table for the optimal utilization of open data in the agri-food sector was organized.… Click to read the full post
“Open Data. Why?”. This is the issue that the Open Data Day (ODD) event will address on the 28th of February 2015 at the Innovathens space in the center of Athens. The event is organized by OpenData Institute (ODI) Athens of the Greek Free/Open Source Software Society (GFOSS) (ΕΛΛ/ΛΑΚ in Greek), as part of the celebrations for the world open data day.
